Morelia 0-0 Toluca: Dreary Draw For Monarcas, Diablos

Morelia and Toluca produced little noteworthy in a scoreless draw.

Morelia and Toluca met in Estadio Morelos, each trying for a different goal.

Morelia tried to erase Wednesday's difficult loss at Cruz Azul while Toluca tried to continue the momentum taken from their first win of the season, a 3-1 triumph over America.

Each took a modicum of success away from Saturday despite not obtaining the desired result, as Morelia and Toluca tied 0-0.

Morelia improved their record to 4-2-1 while Toluca inched up one point to seven on the strength of a 1-2-4 mark.

Toluca's win on Wednesday featured two goals that were scored on the strength of deflections, but their fortune apparently was limited to Estadio Nemesio Diez. Toluca's attack, which had produced just three goals through the first five games of the season, returned to its punchless state. Toluca played on their heels throughout the match and relied on a few counterattacks for their offense.

Morelia, meanwhile, moved the ball around but was not able to put away their scant few chances.

Morelia will play Nacional of Uruguay on Tuesday in a Copa Libertadores match and will try and break out of their offensive stammerings internationally before returning to league play at Tigres.
