Jaguares 2-2 Pachuca: Jaguares Blow Two Leads, Settle For Draw
Jaguares remain winless at home since March 21, 2009.
The draw kept Jaguares winless on the season but the club earned their third point of the season.
Pachuca, meanwhile, improved to 4-2-1 and showed some finishing flair after a home shutout loss against Chivas on Wednesday.
Jaguares drew first blood just six minutes in. Oscar Razo fired a cross in from the right side. After taking one bounce, Jackson Martinez fired the ball past Miguel Calero to give the club a quick lead.
Pachuca, though, struck on the half-hour mark. Benitez slipped free from a defender and fed Ulises Mendivil the ball. Mendivil sent the ball back to Benitez. The Paraguayan got free from his mark and ripped a shot on goal that beat Ocsar Perez. The ball though slammed off the post but the ball went back out to Andrade, who beat a pair of Jaguares defenders to the ball and poked it into the back of the net.
Early in the second half, Jaguares took the lead once more. In the 48th minute, Martinez this time got the play started when he crossed to Edgar Andrade who took control of the ball and beat Calero from close range.
The lead lasted all of one minute. Benitez again struck, as he took a long pass from the back, cairred the ball towards the penalty area and scored on a left-footed shot.
