Puebla waited until very late in their Jornada 6 match against San Luis to find the back of the net but the club was able to convert one goal into three points.

Herculez Gomez scored two minutes from time as Puebla beat San Luis 1-0 on Wednesday. The goal was Gomez's second of the season while San Luis dropped their fourth game of the year.

Just three days prior, Puebla were involved in a wild eight-goal shootout as la Franja fell to Pachuca 5-3. On Wednesday, though, goals were not quite in such supply.

Puebla nearly saw San Luis jump out ahead, though. Early in the second half, San Luis won a penalty kick in the 56th minute but Braulio Luna's shot was stopped by Jorge Villalpando.

Gomez did not earn the start but came on in the 63rd minute, when he replaced former LA Galaxy teammate Carlos Ruiz. Late in the match, Gomez took control of the ball just outside of the penalty area and darted past a pair of San Luis defenders. From just inside the penalty area, Gomez slid and knocked the ball towards the left post on his way down. The ball went just outside of the reach of Adrian Martinez and settled into the back of the net.

The goal sent Puebla manager Jose Luis Sanchez Sola into a frenzy.

Puebla were able to hold on during the final minutes to gain the full three points.
