Paraguayan international Salvador Cabanas continues to make remarkable progress following an attack that left him with a gunshot wound to the head.

As his condition continues to improve, news broke today the forward has now left intensive care.

"He [Cabanas] may be with his family and nobody else.” Neurosurgeon Dr Ernesto Martinez told ABC Paraguay.

Cabanas is said to be talking normally and able to move all of his limbs normally and his doctors remain extremely satisfied with rapid progress.

“The prognosis for recovery is good, his coordination is normal,” Martinez added.

The Club America forward will now be moved to a private room and is still expected to leave Mexico and continue his recovery in the USA once he is given medical clearance to travel.
