Elias Hernandez’s late shot in the first half was enough for Morelia to extend Indios' winless streak to 21. Indios tried to get back into it late in the game but with a goal and a man down things always looked bleak.

Morelia’s victory puts them in the second slot of group 2. Indios only has one point in the season and relegation is now closer than ever.

First Half

Indios, needing a win, started attacking early. Edwin Santibañez crossed the ball into the box, Adrian Aldrete was unable to clear, and Alain Nkong could not get to it either.

Morelia did not get anything on target until the 13th minute. Hugo Droguett shot the ball from outside the box but his shot was saved by a diving Christina Martinez.

Morelia controlled possession but could make nothing with it thanks to Indios’ tight defense.

Indios had a good chance to go ahead in the 24th minute. Emil Martinez filtered a pass to Hector Gimenez who controlled the ball and crossed his shot but missed wide.

Indios had one last chance in the 39th minute. Elliot Huitron crossed the ball into the box Hector Gimenez, who was unable to put it in and Santibañez came in a bit late.

The half was nearing but Morelia would score before the break. Mauricio Romero sent the ball up the field and Elias Hernandez let the ball bounce before hitting it to right post. The ball went in and Morelia enjoyed a 1-0 lead at the half.

Second Half

The second half stared a bit slowly but Indios came out to tie the game. Elias Hernandez tried to cross his shot against Moises Muñoz but the keeper wouldn’t have it and stopped the ball.

Morelia had very little to offer in the second half but Indios also had their problems producing anything offensively.

Indios were down in the game but they only pressured with one man up front.  Javier Malagueño turned and shot in the 67th minute but his shot went too high.

Julio Frias had good chance from a corner in the 75th minute but his shot was stopped by Muñoz.

Morelia did not have anything in the offense until the 82nd minute. Hugo Droguett received the ball alone down the left side. Droguett shot near side but his shot to the wrong side of the goal.

Indios’ night went even worse in the 85th minute. Juan de la Barrera kicked Gabriel Pereyra and was sent off for it.

Indios sent everything forward in the end but it was too late as Morelia earned their third win of the season.
