By Andrea Martinez
Los Potros extended their losing streak to four games and hold only two points to their name for the Bicentenario 2010. Puebla left with four points from four games.
Atlante had various opportunities in the first half. Johan Fano came close for Atlante in the 14th minute, but the shot was wide. Santiago Solari contributed as well with a shot in the 23rd minute inside the box that ended up shooting past the goalpost.
In the 25th minute a well timed tackle from Atlante’s Jose Manuel Guerrero prevented Andres Nicolas Olivera from opening the scoring after receiving a pass from Gilberto Mora.
Ten minutes later Atlante tried to respond. ‘El Hobbit’ shook off defenders and made his way inside the box and centered Daniel Arreola who sent it wide.
Back for the second half it only took a couple of minutes before Puebla opened the scoring. In the 46th minute Herculez Gomez gave Puebla the lead with a header that resulted from a pass by Luis Miguel Noriega.
Rafael Marquez Lugo made it into the game as a substitute in the 78th minute. The substitution worked for Atlante and in the 89th minute Marquez equalized for his team. Christian ‘Hobbit’ Bermudez combined with Marquez who took advantage of the ball bouncing in the box to strike and equalize for Atlante.
