Pachuca 2-0 San Luis: Pachuca Two Much For San Luis
Pachuca spoiled San Luis’ chances for their second win.
By Sylvestre Adame
First Half
Pachuca initiated the game on a high note. Los Tuzos had their first chance at goal in the 4th minute. Juan Carlos Sanchez had a go but his shot went over the crossbar.
Pachuca controlled possession early on but they were unable to find any spaces to filter the ball up the field.
The first chance for San Luis came in the 11th minute. Blas Perez beat the Pachuca defense to a header but unfortunately for the striker it went wide.
San Luis slowly started to find their rhythm but that would never happen as they were left with ten men in the 21st minute. Rodolfo Salinas’ tackle against Edgar Benitez was way too harsh and the referee gave him a straight red.
Despite the man advantage Pachuca still found it hard to produce anything offensively.
The half ended square, 0-0.
Second Half
Pachuca had all the possession to start the second half but again they failed to do much up top.
Despite being a man down, San Luis still tried to get their first win of the season. Braulio sent in a cross for his teammates but Miguel Calero cut out the effort. Later, Luna took on two defenders and had a go but his shot had no power behind it.
Pachuca scored their first in the 76th minute. Ulises Mendivil was celebrating his goal but he had to stop because his goal was annulled.
Pachuca would finally get a real one in the 84th minute. Ulises Mendivil found a cross from Edgar Benitez and slotted it home. Pachuca went ahead, 1-0.
After the goal Mendivil scored once more in the 92nd minute. Pachuca found their stroke late but it was enough to take down San Luis.
