Ruiz And Chelis Explain Puebla's Loss To Estudiantes
Puebla will have to wait until their number gets called in the Libertadores.
“We had to protect what little we had, had to try and hold on to it but we let it go right through our hands. Tecos were better and Tecos deserved to win,” said Sola after the game.
Puebla always strives to be at the top but the Libertadores is perhaps too much for Puebla at the moment.
“Phrases and sayings to me don't mean anything,” admitted Sola. “We work hard every day to try and be the best, and today we weren't the best.”
“El Chelis” had no words for the hurtful loss.
“It hurts a lot. I don't have the words to express how much this hurts and what I'm feeling,” noted Chelis.
El Chelis was not the only one disappointed with the loss. Carlos “Pescadito” Ruiz feels disappointed, for the road to South America will have to wait yet another year.
“We're sad because we had the game and lost it. The chance to play in an international tournament like Copa Libertadores doesn't come around often,” said Ruiz.
Puebla played a good Interliga tournament. La Franja deserved to win but fell short in the end. It’s not a complete loss for Ruiz especially with the little resources the Poblanos have.
“All tournament long we've done enough to deserve but it's not about being deserving,” explained Ruiz. “You have to work hard to achieve. For a team like Puebla, I don't think this is a failure to be honest. We did what we could with what we have.
“This was an opportunity that we had in our hands but couldn't take advantage of.”
