Chivas' Galindo Hopes Real Will Bring Stability
Chivas defender Aaron Galindo said he hoped for stability as the club opened training camp for the upcoming Clausura campaign.
For the third consecutive season Chivas failed to make it into the Liguilla. The team had plenty of opportunities after being placed in a weak group, but failed to capitalize on mistakes by other teams. New Chivas managers were also a trend with three different men taking the reigns.
“It was a difficult year for everyone but we’re all on the same line. Everyone shares the opinion that it was a year with many changes in all aspects. With this new tournament we can do things well from the beginning with [Jose Luis] Real,” spoke Galindo to the media on Tuesday. “I think that it was the best decision that could have been made. With motivation things can be done well.”
According to Galindo, players were part of the problem. Now, they have to move on and focus on the new season taking advantage of starting the season with a new manager.
“Without a doubt I think we [the players] were the ones that caused the change of the managerial team, players, board, I think that we all did or had some part in it. But that’s in the past and we have to reflect on that. They say that the ‘could have’ doesn’t exist, but I think that reflecting does. We have to learn from what has happened and now with Real we can find that stability and consistency; we can find the optimum function.”
Aaron Galindo joined Chivas in the beginning of 2009. He integrated into the side, but at a time that the team wasn’t doing so well. Now with speculation emerging of a cleanse to the team, but Galindo wants to stay.
“I don’t regret anything; coming here to Chivas. It’s been a tough year for everyone, not in the personal aspect, but I think that I came at a time when the team was not well. We haven’t been able to move forward and I speak for everyone,” added the defender. “It’s another goal being able to take Chivas to the first places. We have to make Chivas transcend like it always has. It’s an institution with history and it’s a challenge that makes me happy and motivated to take.
“I have a lot to give and that’s why I want to stay and repay people for that confidence that they had; to the board, the manager. I felt well in the last games with more confidence and obviously when the team is not well you lose a lot of confidence. That’s why I want to start the tournament off well, work well, and that the team is well. It’s fundamental that the team starts off well to gain confidence.”
