America’s Jesus Ramirez: We Will Turn It Around
After losing the first leg in the quarterfinals “Chucho” feels confident America can turn things around.
“I feel calm and confident. Its obvious that no one likes to lose, the guys are upset but I am confident in a comeback,” admitted Jesus Ramirez in a press conference after the game.
Jesus Ramirez knows that the situation will be different thus giving America an advantage.
“The situations will be different,” said Ramirez. “We played on a field where we could not develop our game. It is no excuse, but I think we did better than them, we just lacked the accuracy.”
The quality of the playing field should not really make a difference. What does make a difference is that Monterrey has a goal advantage and only need a tie to advance. America did beat Monterrey 1-0 in their last meeting in the Azteca but America struggled in that win and Monterrey were clearly the aggressors on that day. Jesus Ramirez said he will have only one thing in for Saturday’s encounter.
“We will go with the same idea and that is to win. The team always thinks like that. Today we are at a disadvantage but that will make us generate even more. I am confident we will come back in the Azteca,” sentenced Ramirez.
