Ricardo Lavolpe was supposed to have received either a definitive return to Atlas or a pink slip on Monday.

Instead, he got neither.

According to Guadalajara daily Mural, Lavolpe's job status is still in limbo. Following a meeting between some club officials, no decision was made regarding Lavolpe's job status.

Atlas finished 5-9-3 this season, well out of playoff contention. The club was expected to contend as Lavolpe's first season on the job featured a 5-0-4 record during a nine-game stretch.

Club President Martin Del Campo declined to talk to reporters following Monday's meeting.

For his part, Lavolpe will have to receive the news of his job permanency over the phone. Lavolpe reportedly left for Europe on holiday on Monday.
