Pachuca Out Of Liguilla With Tie
Pachuca needed a series of events to take place on Saturday but unfortunately the stars did not align for the Tuzos.
Pachuca ended the season with four straight winless games. Tigres ended the season with 22 points which a positive is given the way things were going.
First Half
The best from Pachuca in the first half came in the opening ten minutes. Juan Carlos Cacho had a great chance to send his team on top but failed to do so thanks to goalkeeper, Cirilo Saucedo.
Cacho had another in the 30th minute but failed in his judgment. Jose Francisco Torres delivered a great ball through to Cacho. Juan Carlos opted to flick with his heel but the ball was kept out of the net by Saucedo.
Tigres did not respond until the 35th minute. Itamar Batista tried it from long distance but failed to connect. Gaston Fernandez also tried his luck in the 38th minute but once again nothing came from it.
The half ended in a 0-0 tie.
Second Half
The second half started with the same intensity as the first.
The field was reduced to 20 men in the 54th minute. Lucas Ayala and Gregorio Torres both received a red card and left their respective teams with ten men.
The score line would not open until the 82nd minute. Edy Brambila swung the ball into the box. Alfredo Gonzalez Tahuilan managed to tip the ball but the bounce went to an open Ulises Mendivil who slotted the ball home.
Pachuca looked to be the winner but it was not meant to be.
Leobardo Lopez gave Tigres the tie in the 89th minute. Lopez beat out Leobardo Lopez and drilled it in to get the last point of the season. The game ended in a 1-1 draw.
