America's Rojas: We Slapped Chivas With A White Glove

Oscar Rojas is still rejoicing the victory against Chivas especially after a few years of failed attempts.

The dust has finally cleared from what was the epic duel between the biggest clubs in Mexico, America and Chivas. The result of course favored the home team America. After not beating Chivas since 2007, the victory tasted so much sweeter for the Eagles. Such a victory still has players like Oscar Rojas floating up in the air unable to come down from the high that a win against Chivas provides.

"It was a slap with a white glove, we did the talking inside the field," said Rojas in a press conference. "To be honest I think the team looks better after the Clasico because the victory motivates you. I see the team concentrated in our last four games and then after that we can start thinking on the Liguilla."

America might have delivered the blow inside of the field but Chivas is trying to deliver one outside. Guadalajara could potentially submit a complaint against Aquivaldo Mosquera after he slapped Omar Bravo.

"The Clasico is over. If you win then that's great and if you lose you always have the next game to try and get revenge. To try and punish a player after everything is said and done is just too much," expressed Rojas.

The losers of the Clasico were not only Chivas but the spectator as well (depending on which side of the coin you were watching from). The Clasico did not provide a real up and down battle that everyone expected. That doesn't matter much to "El Kevin" who said that only the points counted.

"Perhaps they (the fans) expected more, They expect goals and great plays, but I think they are games where it doesn't matter how you win. The match could have been better but in the end it's the three points that count," admitted Rojas.

Those three points will serve a great purpose in America's hopes to make the Liguilla. Las Aguilas can finally smell the Liguilla after being absent form it for so long.

"The team has to keep performing inside the field. There will be games where our performance is no adequate but the most important thing is to keep winning games and keep silencing critics. Do the talking inside the field," said Rojas.
