America’s Mosquera Dedicates Super Clasico Winner To Wife
Aquivaldo Mosquera takes pride and credit in knowing that his goal beat America’s arch rival Chivas.
"It had already been two and a half years since I had last scored, but thanks to God I was able to get one today. I dedicate it to my wife because we are expecting our second baby. I hope god brings us an 'Aquivaldito'," said Mosquera in a press conference after the game.
America had plenty of chances to score and could have easily made it a 4-0 game. Things didn’t happen that way, though. In the end it’s the three points that count. To know that his lone goal propelled America to victory is music to the Colombian's ears.
"To be able to participate and to win with the goal that you made is always something special," admitted Mosquera. "I hope we can continue like this. We have to think about our next game and also think about qualifying to the Liguilla."
America has practically one foot in the Liguilla. They are in the second spot of a very tight group two with 25points. The road ahead won’t be easy, though, as they still have to go through a couple of very difficult opponents to make it in. Mosquera knows that with the same type of work ethic, America will definitely be among the last eight.
"Those who do doubt is their problem not ours. We are doing our job by trying to get better each day. I hope everything works out in the end, we are a very united team with a thirst for success," said Mosquera.
