A victory against Tigres looked easy on paper for Toluca. Los Diablos though found it extremely difficult to breakthrough the feline defense. Toluca's only goal came off a penalty in the second half. The game was on the verge of ending but Fancisco Fonseca rescued a valuable point for his team in the end.

Toluca will still remain as Supeliders despite the tie, but only one point separates them from Morelia. Tigres still have Liguilla hopes but will need to sum up some wins in order to make it.

First Half

Toluca got started early. Carlos Esquivel drove down the left flank and crossed the ball into an open Isaac Brizuela. Brizuela headed the ball towards goal but it went over Cirilo Saucedo's goal.

Tigres responded in the 7th minute thanks to Francisco Fonseca. "El Kikin" surprised Alfredo Talavera with a long distance that went just wide.

The home team seemed to have an edge over Tigres but were hesitant to try anything dangerous.

Tigres came close to going ahead in the 30th minute. Itamar Batista hit a riffling shot towards goal which beat Talavera but could not beat the post as the ball crashed against it.

Toluca stopped attacking shortly after, while Tigres looked content in keeping the tie. The half ended in a 0-0 stalemate.

Second Half

Toluca once more started the attack. Los Diablos could only resort to long distance shot's as the Tigres defense held strong in the back.

Toluca were still the insistent ones and that paid off in the 65th minute. Fernando Ortiz handled the ball inside of the box for Tigres. The referee was not hesitant in calling the penalty in favor of Toluca. Hector Mancilla lined up and buried the ball past Saucedo. Toluca went ahead, 1-0.

Tigres could not respond offensively but they were doing a number on Toluca's attack. Once again Los Diablos were limited to long distance shots.

Toluca didn't try much after the goal as they seemed happy with their one goal lead.

The game looked to be over but El Kikin gave it a different face in the 89th minute. Juan Carlos Garcia sent in a brilliant cross into the box where it found Fonseca. El Kikin headed the ball past Talavera, rescuing a very important point for Tigres.

The game ended shortly after with a come from behind tie by Tigres.
