Mexican defender, Carlos Salcido, recently admitted his desire to leave his current team PSV Eindhoven. Playing time for the Mexican international has been limited under Fred Rutten, and a stark contrast to the regular role in the championship season in the Netherlands. A possible destination might be his previous club, Chivas.

“You won’t believe me but my biggest dream, I swear, is to be champion with Chivas,” spoke Salcido to newspaper Record.

After his performance with the Mexican national team at the World Cup 2006 in Germany, Carlos Salcido was contracted to play with the Dutch team. Without the presence of the defender Chivas won their 11th championship, something that the former player has regretted not taking part in.

“I was constantly kicking myself(when Chivas gained the title) because it was one of my dreams. I’d go to see Chivas play and I never thought that I was going to play on that field. But later I turned pro and I started to play football. I’d tell myself that if I were champion with Chivas I’d retire even if I were 25 years old. The only thing I wanted was to win a championship with Chivas, but life took me(to the Netherlands). I’ll return in the future. I want to return to Chivas and lift the cup.”

Salcido is another former player that has expressed his desire to return to his former team. Adolfo ‘Bofo’ Bautista has also expressed his wish to return. Both players played during the same time, although ‘Bofo’ was there to help propel the team in their championship run.

“It’s really very satisfactory(that a player like Salcido wants to return). Chivas has something that makes him want to return. He’s made it clear to us, and we’re not going to say no. We’re going to analyze what players have expressed their anxiousness to return, who true to the club, and how they say it to possibly reincorporate them,” said Chivas’ President Raul Lebrija.

“I’d be very happy to count on people like that, who have an interest in being part of Chivas. If any of them(Salcido or Bofo) or some other former player of the Rebaño, we’ll analyze it.”
