Mexico Look To England, Netherlands For Possible Friendlies
FMF officials said Mexico could play England and the Netherlands in the run-up to the World Cup.
Tricolor officials told Mexican daily Reforma that England and the Netherlands are possible friendly opponents ahead of South Africa 2010.
Mexico played the Netherlands Eindhoven in the run-up to the 2006 World Cup. Meanwhile, El Tri last played England in Derby in 2001, ahead of the Confederations Cup. Mexico lost both games, 2-1 to the Netherlands and 4-0 to England.
De La Torre did not say if or when the possible friendlies would be finalized.
"Just as these plans present themselves, once they become official we'll announce them," De La Torre said.
