Hector Moreno: We Are Playing For Everything
Hector Moreno hopes to line up for El Tri in their crucial match against El Salvador.
Mexican defender, hector Moreno knows that Saturday’s game against El Salvador will be a crucial for El Tri’s hopes to reach South Africa. With a win Mexico would qualify but El Salvador will not make it easy as they are also looking for a spot in the World Cup.
“We are playing for everything in these last two games, and if we can get a positive result on Saturday we could get a ticket to the World Cup, which would be great because we'd be able to play the last game without pressure,” Moreno told Mexican daily Excelsior.
The pressure to qualify is immense. There are two games left and with two bad results El Tri could see its chances of qualifying fly out the window. Hector Moreno would have loved the luxury of already been Qualified but unfortunately things did not work out that way.
“We're playing for the World Cup. It's clear that we all would have liked to have gotten through sooner but now we're here and we can get what we want on Saturday and we all hope it can be like that,” admitted Moreno.
The AZ Alkmaar defender will hope to be on the starting roster for Javier Aguirre. Moreno is a solid 90 minute performer with his club and he would like nothing more than to be apart of the qualifying squad.
“I always come with that goal and that expectation,” said Moreno. “I believe that all the players who have been called in have the same opportunity and Javier Aguirre will decide, but I come every day to train with everything I have.”
