Jaguares Players To Take Unexpected Paycut

Luis Fernando Tena is still around - for the time being - but Jaguares management is taking their frustration out on the players.

Jaguares de Chiapas officials abandoned the possibility of analyzing the removal of manager Luis Fernando Tena.

The president of the team, Antonio Leonardo, indicated that before any further the party that is accountable is the players.

For that reason, the players will face monetary losses, which are part of their contracts.

“We are going to retain half of their wages, until they respond to this institution that has made grand sacrifices to have one of the most significant staff,” said in a telephone interview with Goal.com.

He indicated that now is not the time to decide if they will modify strategies, although an ultimatum exists. If the team fails to win this weekend's game, then they could take a different route and look for a new trainer.

“It is time for us to loosen up; this is not the time to make foolish decisions. The continuity of the manager will be known soon,” he insisted.

Jaguares are 2-4-2 and their eight points are good for last place in Group 2. The club has scored just six goals this season.

Jaguares will meet Chivas this coming Saturday in Jalisco Stadium.
