After losing to San Luis 4-0, manager Francisco Ramirez made the decision to leave his position at the head of Chivas. At the moment no replacement has been made. Ramirez is also the one who chose to leave and wasn’t Chivas owner Jorge Vergara who sent him away.

Ramirez took over the team on April 19, 2009 during the Clausura 2009 in a game against America. Chivas won the Classico and Ramirez started off with a victory, but soon results started to go downhill. During his 11 game reign Ramirez was able to lead Chivas to victories only twice, losing five times, and drawing four games.

Executive President Pedro Saez briefly informed after the game of the decision taken by Ramirez.

“I would like to say that a few minutes ago Francisco Ramirez presented his resignation as manager of Chivas and we have accepted. After speaking with the members of the council, we spoke in a teleconference, and due to the latest result, I think it’s not recommended that he continue with the team.”

“He is the one that presented the resignation,” added Saez. “It’s all I have to say.”
