Both Tigres and America left it late to score their respective goals in a caution driven game. America scored late in the 79th minute off an Esqueda header. Tigres evened things out one minute later thanks to Gaston Fernandez. In the end there were more yellows distributed by referee Miguel Ramirez than anything else.

Americas winning streak ends at four but they still hold a 5 game unbeaten streak. Tigres on the other hand are yet to win at home this season.

First Half

Americas front man was in speculation before the match thanks to the absence of Salvador Cabañas and Jean Beausejour. Las Aguilas got offensive early in the game thanks to Enrique Esqueda. Just after the first minute Esqueda headed the ball towards goal, but Tigres keeper Cirilo Saucedo had no problems keeping the ball.

The home team, Tigres would get into the game in the 6th minute. Gaston Fernandez swung the ball into the box from a free kick where Itamar Batista was able to head the ball towards goal. Armando Navarrete was able to get a hand to it just before it crossed the line.

In the 11th minute Angel Reyna saw a clear goal robed by Alfredo Tahuilan. Reyna shot near the right post but Tahuilan was there and saved Tigres from going down in the game.

The game was being held in the middle but America still looked stronger up top.

In the 33rd minute Daniel Montenegro had an incredible opportunity but he couldn’t make the most of it Reyna had a go and Saucedo saved the ball but left it in the box.  Montenegro got the ball but waited ages before taking the shot and when he did the ball was saved off the line by Edgar Castillo.

America had Tigres pinned back and was able to get the last chance of the half. Reyna stole the ball and drove into the box he had a go but Saucedo made a spectacular save to keep his team in it. The half ended all squared at 0-0.

Second Half

America still controlled the second half but they did not show the same intensity they did in the first half.

Angel Reyna was becoming the most dangerous man of the game. In the 64th minute Angel Reyna tried his luck form out side the box and his luck almost paid off. The ball sailed straight towards goal but in the end it smashed against the post.

Tigres started to get back into the game but Itamar Batista was being a bit selfish. In the 70th minute Tigres could have done something off a play but Batista decided to try his luck from mid field. The ball was controlled with out problems by Navarrete.

The game started to slow and Tigres was still looking for their first win at home but America kept insisting and their perseverance paid off.

Pavel Pardo served a good corner and Esqueda headed the ball past Saucedo. America won 1-0.

Just one minute after scoring America saw the game even out again. In the 80th minute Gaston Fernandez was able to get to a deflected shot by Israel Martinez.  Martinez just pushed the ball past Navarrete and gave his team the tie.

The game ended in a 1-1 tie.
