After Rough Week, Chivas Can Focus On Games
Chivas had a rough week that saw Alberto Medina banished to the second division but the team now will have the chance to square off against Pachuca.
It was announced that Alberto “Venado” Medina would be sent to Chivas’ second division team due to disciplinary measures for an undisclosed period of time. In addition to the loss, Chivas will also be without captain Ramon Ramirez due to a left muscle tear obtained midweek. In addition, Aaron Galindo was also left out of the squad due to the flu, although it was confirmed by team doctor Narciso Lopez that it was not H1N1.
Currently Pachuca are on a two game losing streak and will look to turn it around. In the last meeting between the two teams at the Jalisco Stadium, Chivas trounced Los Tuzos with five goals while receiving none. However, with the current troubles of the teams, no one is taking preparation lightly.
“The truth is that now we don’t personally care who we face. It’s Pachuca and we have respect for them. We know their ability and quality of the player, but now personally, I don’t came who we face. I’m just thinking about winning and fixing the current problem of the team. Truthfully, we haven’t had a good week,” said Hector Reynoso at a press conference
Chivas will try to recover from a 3-1 loss against Atlante. In addition, several of the losses have been attributed to the lack of attitude of the team.
“There’s no reason to hide anything. We haven’t been doing well and we’ve gone through bitter things since the defeat on Saturday. What we’ve gone through has been strong, but I think it’s time for everyone to show their personality and show why we are here,” added the defender. “I think that all my teammates know that and what we’re going to do on Saturday is change our attitude from the previous game and respond to Paco’s(Ramirez) guidance.”
Despite facing the traditionally strong team, Reynoso admits that the Chivas’ focus is on themselves rather than the opponent.
“We know that Pachuca is a great team. They have big players like 'Chaco'(Gimenez), (Damian) Alvarez. They all play well and they have a great function. But now, we’re not so interested in Pachuca. We have to improve what we did against Atlante, and it’s much that we have to improve.”
