How They Fared: Tricolor Players' League Performances
How Mexico's domestic players fared in their last league games before reporting to national team camp on Tuesday.
Here's a look at how the league-based players on El Tri's roster for the upcoming match against the United States fared during Jornada 2.
Goalkeepers
Guillermo Ochoa - Did not play (lower back pain) in America's 2-1 loss to Morelia.
Jesus Corona - Had a strong performance in Cruz Azul's 3-0 win over Pumas.
Defenders
Efrain Juarez - Did little to stand out as Pumas' entire defense faltered in a 3-0 loss to Cruz Azul.
Jonny Magallon and Aaron Galindo - Had an abysmal performance in Chivas' 3-1 loss to Tigres; entire defense played shoddy. Owner Jorge Vergara criticized the pair for the way they played.
Oscar Rojas - Had a quiet game out on the left flank for America in their 2-1 home loss to Morelia.
Jose Antonio "Gringo" Castro - Although attack shined the most, Castro had a strong performance in Tigres' 3-1 win over Chivas. Castro will play for Tigres in Wednesday's SuperLiga final and will report to camp on Thursday.
Midfielders
Gerardo Torrado - Had strong game in central midfield for Cruz Azul. Picked up a yellow card, as is seemingly his custom, but also set up a late goal.
Israel Castro - Did little to stand out in Pumas' central midfield as Pumas lost to Torrado's Cruz Azul side 3-0.
Alberto Medina - Was part of the rout Tigres administered on Chivas in Estadio Jalisco. Medina, though, did set up Chivas' only goal as he fed Chicharo Hernandez.
Forwards
Miguel Sabah - Unlike the Gold Cup semifinal, Sabah converted a penalty kick and left no room for doubt; Morelia won 2-1 over America.
