Frustration Mounting For El Salvador's De Los Cobos
El Salvador coach Carlos De Los Cobos said he is not certain if he would stay in his post following the end of his contract.
“I would love to reach the World Cup; that would be something very nice for all of us. Unfortunately it is very difficult to work in a professional manner in this country; it is difficult that I continue,” de los Cobos said in an interview with La Prensa Grafica.
The Mexican coach has a contract with the Salvadorian F.A until the end of the CONCACAF Hexagonal at which point he is uncertain if he will continue to guide the Central American team.
“There has to be tolerance to support what is left of my contract and to try and finish the best way possible,” added de los Cobos.
The “Selecta” coach was denied access to the Cuscatlán stadium, due to heavy downpours, and with the lack of proper training facilities has been forced to use the gymnasium of the hotel where the team is concentrated.
“It is a shame that we will finish this process and at the end be in the same situation as always. All of the national teams could have benefited from a synthetic field but that was never consolidated,” lamented de los Cobos of the limitations of the national team’s infrastructure.
Despite the current setbacks the Mexican coach remains concentrated in preparing the Selecta for the Gold Cup and second round of CONCACAF Hexagonal.
