When Ramon Nuñez arrived in Mexico with Puebla before the start of the Clausura 2009 season, he likely only wanted to earn a starting spot and some playing time.
Now, Nuñez has more on his mind than just playing.
“I believe that the success or failure in a club depends on the
player’s mentality," baosted Nuñez upon
arriving to Mexico City to seal his contract with Cruz Azul. "I came here to triumph.”
left Puebla after a successful season with the club and turned his
brief time into a new contract with a strong club. Nuñez said he wants
to do more than just compete for a spot and help the team along.

works out. I arrive very motivated to make the right decisions. I know
that it is a very big commitment that I am taking on at this time and I
am very prepared for that mentally and physically to perform to my

former FC Dallas and Chivas USA player said that while playing in the
Mexican Primera Division was special, playing for a top club in the
league is something to dream about.
“It is different
to belong to one of the best clubs in Mexico; this is a team that is
always looking to win a league championship but my responsibility is
the same as it was in Puebla,” continued Nunez who is grateful for his
former club. “I am content and grateful with the people in Puebla that
had the confidence in me and thanks to them I have arrived at Cruz
Azul. It has always been my dream to switch to this club and that is
now a reality. I want the fans to know that I will do best in the field
and in training and I wish to give many assists for goals."
