Update: Tigres had a horrible Clausura 2009. The team seemed to battle relegation all season long. The troubles started early on for Tigres. After one win in seven games, Tigres sacked Manuel La Puente and brought on Jose Pekerman. It was evident that it was not a coaching problem for Tigres. Pekerman only won one game in ten tries. Tigres had the players but just could not get it done. They also brought on Omar Bravo from Spain but even that loan turned out to be disastrous. The team from Monterrey left it till the last minute to decide their fate. Thanks to a loss by Necaxa Tigres were able to stay afloat in the top flight of the Mexican league. Tigres will hope to turn things around with a good performance in the SuperLiga.
