Perez Hopes For Increased Role In Pachuca Finale
Blas Perez said he can help out his Pachuca 'mates if given the chance in the second leg of the Mexican league final on Sunday.
Perez was left on the bench for the first leg against Pumas, and hopes that this time around he will feature in the deciding game.
“I really want to play, I want to be there, playing the game, but that is a decision of the manager. I have to respect it, but I have hope. Hopefully it comes true on Sunday,” said Perez.
The Panamanian player is also urging for Los Tuzos to be on alert. Although a 1-0 lead isn’t very great, Perez doesn’t want the team to panic.
“We have 90 minutes and we’re playing at home. We’ll have to give it our all to turn around the result. The advantage isn’t great but we can’t take too much confidence in that. They’re going to come and defend themselves so we’ll have to be intelligent and not be anxious because at any moment the goal will come and hopefully it’s as soon as possible.”
Perez also doesn’t see Pumas’ goal as something they deserved, and more something that Pachuca gave away. He’s also confident that Los Tuzos can take the game in front of their fans.
“The goal was an error by us. Pumas didn’t do anything of merit to win. They didn’t have many shots on goal, the control of the game was always with Pachuca. On our pitch it’ll be the same so it’s important to equalize. We have to be better than this Thursday at the C.U. We can‘t give this up, we have to fight since the start of the game. I feel like we have many possibilities of winning this game with our people.”
