Monterrey Bring Vucetich Back For Another Year
Victor Manuel Vucetich led Monterrey to the Liguilla and earned the backing of club officials.
In a press release, Monterrey officials said the club was satisfied with the manager's work and was brought back for that reason.
Vucetich joined Monterrey on the eve of the Clausura 2009 season after ex-manager Ricardo Lavolpe and the club abruptly parted ways. Monterrey went 7-5-5 and scored 28 goals, the third-highest total in the league behind Pachuca and Toluca.
Monterrey, though, lost to Puebla after a late-season collapse. Monterrey allowed three goals in the final three regular-season matches and allowed five in two Liguilla games.
