Guadalajara Ready For Puebla, Empty Stadium
Before an empty Estadio Jalisco, Chivas try for second place against Puebla.
Chivas will look to solidify their hold on second place of the Group 2, while Puebla have been able to escape relegation due to their 2-1 win over Cruz Azul during the Jornada 15.
Despite all the trouble surrounding Chivas and their problems with continuing play in the Copa Libertadores, everyone is focused on securing a place in the Liguilla. However, the players know that it will be difficult due to Puebla’s confidence of being saved from relegation and their attempts to qualify for the Liguilla as well.
“It’s a very complicated rival because they come in playing very good football, and who just saved themselves from relegation. They’re also fighting for a place in the Liguilla so we’ll have to be concentrated all 90 minutes, play good football, and win no matter what to be in the Liguilla,” said "Tepa" Solis.
Solis also knows what having a manger like Jose Luis Sanchez Sola, better known as "Chelis," means and knows that the Puebla players will continue to be inspired.
“He’s a manager that motivates. He’s been a very important part of what Puebla has done this season. We know that it will be complicated, but playing our football and working like we’ve done we can get a good result.”
For the second time this season, Chivas will have to play in an empty stadium, but it will be the first time in front of Estadio Jalisco.
“It’s weird and hard to play without an audience, but we’re professionals and we have to carry out our job. But it’s a way of supporting the country at this time. Our duty is to play well and win three points.”
