Guadalajara Expect Result In Chile
Guadalajara need just a draw to get through to the knockout stage of Copa Libertadores but won't go in looking for one; Chivas players assured they will be looking for a win.
The team will face a well-rested Everton side, who suspended their weekend play in anticipation for the Libertadores clash. Everton need to win to have hope of qualifying for the next stage.
“They need to win to pass on the next phase, which is why I think they’ll come out looking for a result no matter what. We will too, we came for the win and we expect to go away with it,” said Javier ‘Chicharo’ Hernandez.
‘Chicharo’ also mentioned how a repeat of the previous game against Everton would be hard to repeat.
“Every game is different, despite the results that were given over there at the Jalisco, Everton will want to win on this occasion and so it will be a difficult game. We hope it’ll be an open game because their approach will be to come out and win. We’re also going to analyze their approach because although a draw helps us, Chivas always wants to get three (points) and win.”
Chivas manager Paco Ramirez wasn’t at the head of Chivas during the 6-2 win against Everton, but he watched the game and thinks that the result was not telling of the game.
“I was at the stadium and the goleada was really circumstantial. Everton looked strong, they looked competitive, and we know that that situation can come up during this game. More than anything they’ll have the support of their fans and they’ll try to take advantage of being at home,” said Ramirez.
