Galindo Declares Himself Fit, Ready For America
Guadalajara defender Aaron Galindo said he felt fine in training on Wednesday, and that he'd be a go for the club against America on Sunday.
“I’m 100 percent from the injury. This Wednesday I felt very well (at training), there wasn’t any problem and I’m reporting myself to the team as ready," Galindo said. "I’m ready for the manager and I’ll wait to see what he decides. I feel well. This Wednesday I played 45 minutes and I felt very well. I feel ready to play a full game, but obviously there’s still the work for the rest of the week to keep preparing for the game on Sunday."
Galindo previously played with Cruz Azul where there is an intense rivalry with America as well. The people though only talk about Chivas’ upcoming game all around, and the talk has gotten him excited.
“The atmosphere is something new to me with Chivas. I think it’s an important game, perhaps the most important in Mexican football, a game in which everyone would like to be in. All players dream of playing El Clasico and what better place than the Jalisco stadium?”
Chivas have been suffering with continuity, and with America having the best away form of any Mexican team this season he knows that it will be tough to have them as their visitors.
“America has shown to be better as a visitor than a home team," Galindo said. "They haven’t been able to win at the Aztec stadium and it’s been because of something. Maybe it’s because they’re better defensively away and maybe to have a better showing at home they’ve focused more offensively, and have let their defense slip.”
