Pekerman: Tigres Must Committ To Defending
Jose Pekerman says once his players committ to defending, the club will improve.
The matches, though, at least give Pekerman an idea of what he's dealing with: a club that allows goals with regularity.
It is there where Pekerman said his team could stand to improve.
"Where we must not err is in defending, and think that since we attack well we need not defend," Pekerman said. "The great teams defend well, allowing the frontrunners to play well, and that's what we must try and do."
With standout attacking options such as Omar Bravo and Lucas Lobos, Pekerman said his team must first stick to defending before opening up the attack.
"We have offensive qualities and we must have a bit more balance with the defensive side of things," he said. "If we can achieve that, we will improve."
Tigres are 1-5-3 and in danger of tumbling towards the relegation zone. Still,in order to improve Eriksson said the team needed just one thing to help everything else come together.
"There are times when this team needs to remain a bit calmer," Pekerman said. "We work hard but we need to concentrate a little more."
