Mexico broke out of their slump with a show of force as El Tricolor routed Bolivia 5-1.

Matias Vuoso scored a pair of goals while Leandro Augusto, Sergio Santana and Jose Maria Cardenas also scored for El Tri. Didi Torrico scored Bolivia's only goal of the night.

The goal fest might help Mexico gain some much-needed confidence ahead of their World Cup qualifying match against Costa Rica scheduled for March 28. Mexico won for the first time since November and snapped a three-game losing streak.

Bolivia saw one of their players sent off in the first half. Juan Manuel Pena was ejected after a vicious slide tackle on Matias Vuoso midway through the second half. Overmatched in all facets of the game, Bolivia resorted to physical play and had four yellow cards and numerous rough challenges to go along with their red card. Mexico, meanwhile, had just one yellow card this game.

Sven-Goran Eriksson had an all-Mexico based starting lineup: Guillermo Ochoa started in goal; Oscar Rojas, Leobardo Lopez, Julio Cesar Dominguez, Fuasto Pinto along the backline; Fernando Arce, Leandro Augusto, Gerrardo Torrado and Israel Martinez in the midfield; and Vuoso along with Omar Bravo up top.

From the start, Mexico controlled the match. It did not take long for Mexico to finish. In the 25th minute, Martinez dribbled the ball along the left side of the field and crossed to Vuoso, who found space in the middle of the penalty area and knocked the ball past Bolivian goalkeeper Carlos Arias.

Seven minutes later, Pena took Vuoso out from behind and immediately saw red. The foul occurred about 25 yards out, and Augusto lined up the free kick. Augusto sent the set piece directly into the back of the net and gave Mexico a two-goal edge.

Mexico continued their domination in the 59th minute Vuoso connected again. Vuoso scored from close range to give Mexico a 3-0 lead.

However, Bolivia answered when Torrico scored a nifty goal from 20 yards out. In the 69th minute, Torrico darted through Mexico's defense, found room straight away and sent a low hard shot just inside the left post. Ochoa had been leaning towards his left but the ball was just out of reach on his right.

Nevertheless, Mexico came back with another goal before too long. Bolivian defender Santos Amador climbed on the back of the Mexico's Santana inside the penalty area. Referee Baldomero Toledo immediately pointed to the spot and Santana converted the spot kick.

Cardenas, who made his national team debut in the game, finished off the scoring after putting away a ball from eight yards out following a brief scramble in the net.

Mexico finished with a four-goal victory and set several highs in the game. The goal total was the most Mexico have scored under Eriksson while the team hit double digits for the first time since November. This is also Mexico's second victory in the United States.
