Mexican international Giovani Dos Santos arrived in Mexico on Wednesday and joined the national team in preparation for a World Cup qualifying match against the United States.

Dos Santos was granted permission by Tottenham to travel to Mexico early. Upon arriving in Mexico City, Dos Santos said he was in prime condition to help Mexico on its path towards the 2010 World Cup.

“(The injury) is something that is being talked about a lot but I feel fine, I've recovered well and I believe I am 100 percent,” Dos Santos said.

Looking ahead at his opponent, the youngster said he has respect for the Americans.

“The United States has a very good squad, they've grown quite a bit,” Dos Santos said. “But we have to start off on the right foot and more so because it is away from home. We need to pull out an important result.”

With regards to his club situation, Dos Santos acknowledged that he did not have the best relationship with Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp.

“It is a complicated situation,” he said. “Since I've returned I’ve been doing the right things but have not been able to impress the manager. I believe it is important to join the national team and show that I am fine and I'll wait my turn.”
