Cruz Azul's Sporting Director, Eduardo de la Torre, indicated that he sees the championship in Cementero hands since they are more mature than six months ago when they lost in the Torneo Clausura 2008 final to Santos.

"I see the championship closer this time around than in the last campaign because of the good moment of the team and players, which has given us great strength and confidence," De la Torre explained.

The club official manifested that more than an obsession, he considers the title to be necessary.

"It is a necessity, there is a great need for the title and due to the time without one, it has become a necessity," he said.  "But it is not an obsession, because an obsession is not good for anyone, not for one person, not for an institution."

De la Torre commented that Cruz Azul has made great strides in the past months and as a result count with two consecutive finals disputed.

"That speaks of consistency but we also understand that the hope of our faithful is the title, and now that they see how we are playing they feel it's near," he added.

"We will do everything possible to satisfy this illusion."

This Thursday, La Máquina host Toluca in the first 90 minutes of the Final of the Torneo Apertura 2008.
