Ahead of the quarterfinal match, defender Darío Verón, believes that Pumas have an advantage over Cruz Azul because they have players in the squad with important Liguilla's under their belt.

In the first quarterfinal match of the Torneo Apertura 2008, Cruz Azul face Pumas in a battle of two capital teams.

Pumas defender, Darío Verón, declared that they have a slight advantage over their cross-town rivals Cruz Azul due to the past Liguilla participation of various teammates.

"We have many players with experience and we know how the Liguilla's are played, that is very important to transmit to our teammates," Verón said.

Despite a Cruz Azul dominance in the past league matches over the Universitarios, the 29-year old Paraguayan indicated that the final phase matches are different and Pumas need to be concentrated for the full 90 minutes.

"All matches are difficult, we know that Cruz Azul has good players, but it is now the Liguilla and it's a different match, it depends on us to defeat them, we have to train well during week and be alert for 90 minutes," he stated.

Verón also highlighted the offensive prowess of La Máquina who count with dangerous players in their ranks.

"We have to be concentrated for the 90 minutes because they have players up top that play well, and if they get an opportunity they will score."

Pumas also benefit from a better position in the general table, since they ended up the regular season in the fourth spot, compared to the fifth-place of the Cementeros.  Final table position comes into play in case the series ends in a draw, and the highest seeded team advances.

This Saturday, Pumas receive Cruz Azul in the first leg of their quarterfinal series at UNAM stadium.
