Chivas coach Efraín Flores indicated that his team realized an almost perfect match with all lines performing well and that is why they took the three points in the National derby against América from the estadio Azteca.

"I believe that we had authority and governance of the match during the first 25, 30 minutes of the first half," expressed Flores.  "The offensive players worked in an important manner and in the defensive we did a good job marking three important forwards like Insúa, Cabañas and Moreno."

"I think they did an impeccable job and I value the players, I am very happy and I don't have any more words of thanks for the generosity of the efforts and overall knowing how to defend with pride a jersey that has to be defended this way."

Flores highlighted that the "Rebano Sagrado" has considerably improved in the last matches against Atlante, River Plate in the Copa Sudamericana and América in the Clásico, which makes them believe they can qualify to the Liguilla.

"I manifested that this week would be very important since we faced Atlante, River and América, for the capacity and quality of our opponents, " indicated the Chivas boss.

"Three matches that required our maximum and now we are at a better percentage than 10 days ago, but we are still going to grow hoping to arrive to the Liguilla in the best form and take the next step in the Sudamericana."

In turn, the player of the match Omar Arellano revealed that he always dreamed of scoring two goals against América.

"It is a dream that I have had since I was young," expressed the 21-year-old forward.  "Today I earned something nice but I have to continue with my feet on the ground, I am a realist and now that I have a lot to work on."

The third generation Chivas player, grandson of the legendary Raúl "La Pina" Arellano and son of Omar Arellano Sr., indicated that these type of commitments have to be played with attitude and character.

"In these matches is when one has to raise the hand and make your presence felt, in general the team did it and we are fighting in both tournaments."

"Today was a great night for all of us...we work for this and fortunately we won."

Chivas de Guadalajara will receive struggling Pumas in a Group 2 battle in the Jornada 15 of the Torneo Apertura 2008.
