América: Players Have Not Performed
Coach Ramón Díaz indicated that some América players have not performed to expectations, but he praised the work of his players during the derby clash against Chivas.
"Today we gave a demonstration that the team always wanted to win the match," stated Díaz. "What makes me happy is that some players played real well, while there were others that did not have the performance that we wanted, but there was total devotion."
Ramón Díaz reflected on the events of the Clásico d highlighted that even if both teams are not in the top places of the torneo, they played an entertaining match.
"There was a lot of journalism that talked of a devalued Clásico, but it was completely different, it was very intense and both sides created opportunities."
With three weeks left in the regular season and the "Aguilas" near elimination, "Pelado" indicated that they do not lose hope of being in the playoffs and will fight to the end.
"It is our obligation to continue fighting and of course we will play until the last instances," expressed the coach.
"We have three matches left and we will fight them to death, but I believe this was the match and what América demonstrated was an image of enormous progress."
In the Jornada 15, the "Aguilas" face a tough test in another Group 2 battle against group leaders Tecos.
