Solving The Puzzle
The Apertura 2009 season is entering its penultimate week of the season and not much has been resolved. Toluca and Morelia are in but other teams are eyeing a Liguilla berth of their own. Still, the weekend could come and go without much else figured out.

Penalty KO
Mexico were leading South Korea 1-0 in second-half stoppage time in a U-17 World Cup second-round match, but the Koreans eventually woke up. South Korea bagged a dramatic stoppage-time equalizer and went on to beat Mexico in penalty kicks.<br>

Triumphant Return
Enrique Meza and Pachuca combined for several important accomplishments in recent years, but Meza's latest win in Estadio Hidalgo wasn't exactly cause for los Tuzos to celebrate. Meza returned with Cruz Azul to defeat his former club.

New Leader
Morelia and Toluca were neck-and-neck in the race for the top spot of the overall league table, and while that did not change the team who sits on that perch did. Toluca's loss allowed Morelia to overtake los Diablos as superlider.

No Disputing Form
Monterrey's game-winning goal in their 2-1 triumph over Santos may not have been as clear-cut as the first two goals in the game, but the victory stood regardless. Monterrey thus is delivering on their promise to finish the season strong.

New Manager, Same Results
Chivas sacked Raul Arias in a shock move on Tuesday, but the managerial change netted all of one point. Indios' Tomas Campos scored a goal at the death against Chivas and left Estadio Jalisco with a 2-2 draw as Chivas continue to suffer.

Corona Farewell
Santos Laguna were unable to close out Estadio Corona's history with a victory but the club came from behind to tie Pumas 1-1 in the last match in stadium history. Matias Vuoso notched the goal and looked forward to the opening of Territorio Santos Modelo.
