Rapids captain Drew Moor is out for the season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament and lateral meniscus in Colorado's 4-2 loss at D.C. United on Sunday.
Moor, 30, has started 23 of Colorado's 24 matches this season and has missed just five MLS games since joining the Rapids in 2009. The center back suffered the injury while trying to prevent Luis Silva's 12th-minute opener Sunday.

"It's hard to remember exactly what happened," Moor said earlier this week. "I just remember running full speed one way, and cutting really hard when Silva cut in. My right leg was planted pretty hard and when I opened up to reach back for the ball, my right leg didn't move and all the weight just went into my knee. It was almost as if, for a split second, I could feel my knee turn into jelly."
With third-year center back Shane O'Neill sidelined by a lingering knee injury, rookie Jared Watts partnered with Marvell Wynne in central defense following Moor's injury.
The Rapids (8-10-6) are in seventh place in the Western Conference, three points out of the final playoff spot.
