Besler pleased with All-Star win over Bayern Munich

The Sporting Kansas City captain seemed satisfied by the league showcase, and was happy to get the win against one of the world's biggest clubs.
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Major League Soccer All-Star defender Matt Besler was pleased after helping the league's finest to a 2-1 win over Bayern Munich.

Besler, coming off an impressive World Cup with the United States, was one of four Sporting players to take part in the All-Star match. He started in central defense alongside club partner Aurelien Collin, while Graham Zusi began the game in midfield and striker Dom Dwyer came on as a second-half sub.

And Besler declared the All-Star experience a success, telling Goal USA: "I thought it went very well, from a lot of different aspects. I thought it was exciting for the fans, exciting for the league, and exciting for the players. I think overall, it was just a very very good game of soccer.

"And we won, too."

Not every player had the same criteria as Besler. Seattle fullback DeAndre Yedlin was happy enough to avoid too much abuse from the hometown Portland fans,

"It was great, it's the one and only night that I can like Portland," Yedlin joked. "It was good, they didn't boo me too loud so I was proud about that. They were good and it's always good when we come here."
