Robbie Keane and Gyasi Zardes continued their good form, helping the LA Galaxy to a 3-1 win over the Portland Timbers on Saturday afternoon.
The Galaxy were in control of the match from start to finish, despite falling behind to an early Diego Valeri free kick.
Zardes scored his eighth goal of the season – and seventh in eight games – to tie the game up before Keane scored twice in the second half, making it five in four games for him and 12 on the season.
Keane's second was the Galaxy's first penalty kick goal of the season. LA had missed all three of its PK attempts beforehand, with Keane missing two.
The result helped the Galaxy stay red hot as well, as Bruce Arena’s club has now gone 5-1-1 in its last seven league games, moving into second place in the Western Conference — at least temporarily.
