Montreal acquires defender Futty Danso from Portland

The Impact receive the Gambian international in exchange for a second-round pick in next year's MLS SuperDraft.
The Montreal Impact have traded for some defensive help, with the club acquiring Mamadou "Futty" Danso from the Portland Timbers in exchange for a second-round SuperDraft pick in 2015.

Announced Monday, the transaction sends the veteran defender to an Impact side that has allowed 22 goals in 12 MLS matches so far this year. The 31-year-old has made 100 league appearances for the Timbers since 2009, with 40 of those matches coming for Portland's second-tier side prior to the organization's move to MLS.

Danso has also represented his native Gambia on the international stage, having earned 10 caps for the African side.
