thumbnail Hello,

Jermain Defoe and Eddie Johnson scored this weekend after missing out on the World Cup, showing their international managers they may have made the wrong decision.

D.C. United and Toronto FC were likely planning on a spell without Eddie Johnson and Jermain Defoe this month. Both teams are now happy to be making other plans, and it especially showed this weekend. Johnson and Defoe scored against Montreal and New York respectively, providing a rebuke to U.S. boss Jurgen Klinsmann and England manager Roy Hodgson. Although Obafemi Martins wasn't shocked to miss out on Nigeria's squad, his wonder goal showed he could've helped the Super Eagles in Brazil as well.
