Shalrie Joseph returns to New England Revolution

The Revolution claimed the veteran midfielder, who previously spent nine and a half seasons with the club.
Shalrie Joseph and the New England Revolution are officially reunited.

The Revolution on Tuesday claimed the veteran midfielder via the waiver draft, returning Joseph to the club he played for from 2002 to 2012. After leaving the Revolution in an August 2012 trade to Chivas USA and spending 2013 with Seattle, Joseph was waived by the Sounders before initially joining New England on trial in February.

Joseph holds the Revolution record with 263 MLS appearances, with accolades including eight All-Star selections and four Best XI nods. The 35-year-old, who played in just 10 league games for Seattle last season, figures to compete with Andy Dorman and Scott Caldwell for minutes in defensive midfield.
