thumbnail Hello,

The rookie had shown promise but tore his ACL and medial meniscus in a match against the Timbers, Chivas USA confirmed Friday.

Rookie midfielder Thomas McNamara had shown promise for Chivas USA, but his season has been cut short.

McNamara suffered a right ACL and medial meniscus tear in a 1-1 draw Saturday against the Portland Timbers. The non-contact injury occurred in the 63rd minute when he cut back to evade two Timbers but went to the ground nearly immediately.

The ex-Clemson man was the 20th pick in the 2014 MLS draft and had started all six of the Goats' matches, scoring once. The surgery is not yet scheduled, the club said in a news release.
