Montreal Impact 0-1 New England Revolution: Goncalves nets winner as Revs move into playoff position

While New England is unbeaten in four, the Impact have dropped to fourth place during an 0-4-1 stretch.
As the Montreal Impact continue to fade at the worst possible time, the surging New England Revolution just keep on getting results.

Jose Goncalves grabbed the game's only goal as New England moved back into playoff positioning with a 1-0 win over the Montreal Impact on Saturday. The Revolution, who are unbeaten in four, sit in fifth place with two matches remaining. They are just one point behind the Impact (three games left), who have fallen to fourth during an 0-4-1 stretch.

New England went up 31 minutes in. As Diego Fagundez collected the ball on the right side of the box, he hit a bouncing service in front of goal that deflected off Juan Agudelo and fell to Goncalves for an emphatic point-blank finish.

The Revolution came closest to doubling that advantage in the 69th minute, when Chris Tierney's free kick struck the crossbar.

It wasn't all good news for New England, though, as forwards Saer Sene and Dimitry Imbongo were both forced out with injuries.
