Chivas USA tabs Guadalajara veteran Galvez as president

With the unstable club toiling in last place, Jose David is out after less than a year on the job.
In a season of seemingly perpetual upheaval for Chivas USA, president Jose David became the latest figure to make his exit.

The club Tuesday night announced that Arturo Galvez, the former international director for Chivas Guadalajara, has replaced David as president and chief business officer of Chivas USA.

David was named to the post in October and oversaw an offseason overhaul of the roster and coaching staff that brought the club closer to its Mexican roots. The movement has been a source of controversy, with the organization facing discrimination lawsuits.

Chivas in May fired coach Jose Luis Sanchez Sola after just five months on the job, replacing him with Jose Luis Real. At 6-15-8, the club is in last place in the Western Conference and has been eliminated from playoff contention for the fourth straight season.
