Philadelphia Union forward Jack McInerney added to MLS All-Star team

The 20-year-old forward led the MLS Golden Boot race for much of the early season, and has been rewarded with his first All-Star nod.
MLS All-Star manager Peter Vermes has added Philadelphia Union forward Jack McInerney to the roster, per a league release. McInerney will replace New York Red Bulls midfielder Tim Cahill, who injured himself in Saturday's match against Real Salt Lake.

McInerney has enjoyed a breakout season in 2013, scoring 10 goals in 19 games so far this season. The 20-year-old was rewarded with his first call-up to the U.S. national team for the Gold Cup, though he didn't see any game action.

The MLS All-Stars will face AS Roma on Wednesday at Sporting Park in Kansas City. The match kicks off at 9:00 p.m. ET on ESPN2 and UniMas.
