Olmes Garcia struck twice in the waning moments to turn a knotted game in favor of Real Salt Lake.

In the previous four meetings between these teams, the away side won. Real Salt Lake reversed the trend with a 3-1 win over the LA Galaxy on Saturday in Utah.

Bruce Arena benched former Chelsea and Tottenham goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini for the match, and RSL found a way past sophomore net-minder Brian Rowe in the 44th minute. Robbie Findley ran infield from the flank and passed the ball to Khari Stephenson. Several yards outside the box and moving away from goal, Stephenson quickly turned to fire a long-range blast that beat Rowe along the ground.

LA equalized in first-half stoppage time. Landon Donovan headed a long ball off the back of Nat Borchers' head. When the ball dropped invitingly at the top of the box, Donovan cranked a one-time volley inside the far post with Nick Rimando sprawling.

With five minutes remaining in the match, Olmes Garcia looped a header over Rowe off a Javier Morales cross. Then, in stoppage time, the same combo provided Salt Lake's third.

Marcelo Sarvas picked up a booking in stoppage time to rule him out of the Galaxy's next match.
